Jupyter Notebooks
Jupyter Notebooks are a widely appreciated technology that streamlines experimentation and supports exploratory programming. QCG-Portal enhances this experience by enabling users to launch JupyterLab environments on HPC machines, allowing the execution of resource-intensive Jupyter Notebooks on cutting-edge computational infrastructure.
By running JupyterLab as a standard job within the queuing system, it can leverage multiple cores, GPUs, or even entire nodes, while also accessing the HPC resource's filesystem. The JupyterLab interface is seamlessly forwarded and integrated directly into the QCG-Portal, offering a user-friendly experience.
Additionally, QCG-Portal’s application template abstraction allows for customization of the JupyterLab environment. For instance, notebooks can be automatically uploaded via the QCG-Portal interface and made accessible on the remote system, tailoring the environment to specific requirements. This flexibility ensures that JupyterLab on QCG-Portal is adaptable to a wide range of use cases.
